THE STRUCTURE OF THE UK MARKET REQUIRES RADICAL CHANGE

I'm designing a conceptual new model for housing. which is REACTIVE, FLEXIBLE and INTERCONNECTED.

A private, inner city housing market model which commits itself to GENERATION Y.

It will be a housing model for institutions to adopt, to build tens of thousands of homes, including entire streets or apartment blocks and it will provide:
  • very long-run tenure (security) for those who rent 
Crucially this housing model makes the supply of housing as flexible as possible by
  • ensuring an over supply of space where people are location-mobile by utilizing a network of connected homes which people move between.
AND The model will mitigate over supply (vacant space) and generate revenue 

  • by utilizing real time information technology to supply daily rentals of vacant spaces to generate revenue
  • and allow remaining unused space to be 'borrowed' 
The model will be designed to keep rental prices affordable while symbiotically accommodating increasing densities, environmental agendas and social concerns through:
  • reducing individual space and requirements and promoting shared spaces
  • 'designing-in' collaborative consumption
